How do I be a global citizen?!?!

this is something I am working on. since the work starts at home.

Every species on Earth will one day be extinct.

With that in mind...

I was a sophomore. I had decided, with the encouragement of my base, to take six classes that semester. It might have been seven honestly, I can't remember. Just more than the typical load. It was my best semester - scholastically. When you have a lot of shit to do, there's just not really time to fuck around.

I was in one of my early days Environmental Issues theme (required) classes. (I mean, a theme was required. I happened to choose this one, also with the encouragement of my base. It's astonishing to me how much of my life has been determined by other people suggesting that I do things, and then me saying, yeah okay). Our teacher said - he was a man. Kind of portly, with brown hair and a brown beard. He said that every species on earth would one day be extinct. Every species. This was like a lightning bolt, to me.

In the meantime, and awhile later, it's 'the thing' to be eco-conscious. But how do we actually do that, and really do it and not just talk about it.

I want to be a global citizen. I want to be a BADASS who handles her shit and recognizes that EVERY SINGLE THING I DO has an impact. On me, on my fellow human, on my planet.

How do we live, with conscience. How.
